Punxsutawney Phil had it right: winter is far from over! Earlier this week, Winter Storm Octavia dumped about five inches of snow on northern Virginia. That’s not a lot by our Midwest standards, but it’s enough to bring this urban area to a halt and force all the schools (and everything else) to close.
So what did we do on our snow day on Tuesday? We played in the snow of course! Noah had a blast climbing on the snow mound that Ryan and the neighbors created from shoveling. He also had fun making snow towers with his buckets…and even more fun knocking them down. Check it out!
Yes, if you’re keeping track, Noah’s beach toys get more use in the winter than in the summer—but that’s A-OK! Ha.
Noah had a great time on his snow day…and since we have at least a few more weeks of winter (according to the groundhog anyway), he’ll likely have the opportunity to make more snow towers before spring. In fact, it’s snowing again now! We’ll have to wait and see how much fluffy stuff we have to play in tomorrow. But for now, we’ll stay inside and eat our warm cookies.
(By the way, if you didn’t know that the recent snow event was named Octavia, you must not watch the Weather Channel as much as Ryan does—haha. There are no other channels in this house.)
