Two weekends ago we went on a mini vacation to Sesame Place (a Sesame Street theme park) near Philadelphia. The drive north took about three hours…and yes, we heard “When are we going to get there?” the whole time. Noah was so excited!

Once at Sesame Place, we headed straight to the roller coaster. The roller coasters were Noah’s favorite rides at Disney World, so we figured that this would be a great first stop – we were right! We sped through the curves and dips of the Vapor Trail roller coaster…and multiple times in a row too. We lucked out with short lines – whew! And don’t worry, while this roller coaster was fast, it was definitely made for kids Noah’s age. We never went upside down, and the dips weren’t that steep. It was a perfect roller coaster for kids…and us not-so-adventurous big kids too. Ha.
Here are two short videos of our roller coaster rides. Noah laughed the entire time!
Next we had lunch with Elmo and his friends – so fun! We got to hang out with Elmo, Cookie Monster, Zoe, the Count and Abby Cadabby. Noah had a blast meeting the characters and getting their autographs. Noah loved Elmo when he was younger, so he was especially excited to meet him! The food was good too. As Cookie Monster would say: “Om nom nom nom nom!”
After lunch we found a shady spot along Sesame Street and we watched the daily neighborhood parade. The whole gang was there – check it out!
Next we headed to Elmo’s World and Cookie’s Monster Land for rides, rides, rides! Our first ride was Elmo’s Cloud Chaser. Yeah, we got a great view of Sesame Place from up there – and a great breeze too!
Here’s a short video too. Can you spot us?
Next we headed to Monster Mix-Up (similar to the teacups at Disney World). Noah got his teacup spinning fast – whew! I sat this one out and took pictures instead.
And here’s a quick video too. They’re in the teacup with the green monster on it. Check it out!
Our final ride for the day was Oscar’s Rusty Rotten Rockets. That Oscar may be grouchy, but he’s still a lot of fun!
And check out this short video too…
After we finished up with our first day at Sesame Place, we headed to our hotel and spent the night lounging at the pool and relaxing in our hotel room. We had to rest up for another fun day on Sesame Street. Stay tuned to read more about our adventures with Elmo and his friends!
