Labor Day weekend along Chesapeake Bay

We hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend. We sure did! We visited our good friends Dan and Lindsay and their son Thane at their home in North Beach, MD along the Chesapeake Bay.

Noah had fun walking along the boardwalk and up and down the pier with Thane. Later that day we also walked along the bulkhead near their house. Yeah, it was a great day to be outside!

It did get a little hot though, so hung out inside too.  Tackle!

We had steaks and corn on the cob for supper – so yummy! After supper we relaxed outside and had a small bonfire. When we came inside, Thane read a few books to Noah before bedtime.

The next morning Lindsay surprised us with eggs and bacon – jackpot – and later she set up a tent in the backyard for the kids to play in. Yeah, the big kids obviously played in it too!

Later that morning Noah and Thane raced remote control cars. I never quite figured out who was controlling each car – they were crazy drivers!

And of course, you can’t visit the Chesapeake Bay without eating some form of crabs. So before we left North Beach, we had lunch at Mango’s on the Bay. The cream of crab soup and crab cakes were awesome!

Here are a few pics of us outside the restaurant. Our bellies were full!

What a great way to end the summer! Thanks for the fun weekend getaway, Dan, Lindsay and Thane!

It looks like it was indeed a wonderful weekend. It was quiet around here but that is OK.
